The scope of works was to replace the existing causeway and fishway at O’Connell River on Forbes Road, Bloomsbury. Pentacon installed a new higher-level causeway including a new fishway.
Project Scope of Works
Establishment of Site Access, Site Facilities and Traffic Management Controls
Survey set out;
Location and protection of existing services;
Provision for traffic and liaison with residents;
Quality control and compliance testing of the Works;
Clearing and grubbing works;
Implementation of ESCP and dewatering & temporary diversion bypass
Bulk Earthworks;
Subsoil and pavement drainage Works;
Structural concrete works;
Revegetation works/ hydro-mulching of disturbed areas;
Supply and installation of road furniture/signage;
Construction of stormwater structures and protective treatments;
Construction of fishway;
Construction of bitumen/aggregate pavement-sealing works;
Restoration of all disturbed areas
Special Features
The O’Connell River is a permanently flowing river. Dewatering / diversion / staging of the construction was required to accommodate flows.
The construction of the fishway was overseen by a suitably qualified third-party person, with reports prepared for submission to the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DEF), as per condition 10 of the SARA decision notice.
